Dugout Club Meeting March 6, 2012 Londonderry High School- 7:00 PM Board Members Present: Bob Del Signore President; Treasurer - Debra Simpson Absent; Warren Jennings Secretary; 15 Club members present (Absent - Jim Flanders Vice President) 1. Lead Off Dinner: Renee Forgues and Sylvia Cassidy will be leading this effort 6:00 PM - April 3, 2012 at the Middle School Cafeteria perishable items will be provided by the school (including bread) Spaghetti and Sauce are provided by Hannafords as donation Parents please bring desserts. Coca Cola will be asked to donate drinks (Bob will take care of this item). a. Apparel will be available Sue Joncas and Renee Dickson will be coordinating while membership dues are being processed 2. Coach Demas Tryouts March 19th hopefully outdoors weather permitting field is currently playable if weather occurs, tryouts will be held Tuesday and Wednesday at Playball in Salem All Tryouts are Closed (no Parents) - Thursday will be Cut day Freshman are encouraged to try out for Varsity and JV, but there may be a Freshman cut on Monday after the initial workouts - Freshman Tryouts are currently TBA (in 2011 it was on the Monday following the Varsity and JV teams were determined) - Middle School tryouts are also currently TBA. a. Summer Baseball (Legion and Senior Babe Ruth) Tryout date will be during season Saturday but no date currently boys will be told at the March 7th meeting (Date will be end of May). 3. Program Book update if there are any new companies that you believe are interested, please let Coleen Maloney or Chris Tutt know. a. Discussion around increasing size of book as well as utilizing to color. 4. Old Home Day Booth for assisting to raise money maybe a dunk tank with a variety of coaches that (hopefully) volunteer to take the plunge a. Motion by Coleen, seconded by Sylvia to spend $40 to reserve booth - motion passed 5. Basket Raffle discussion to reduce the amount of baskets and utilize donated items rather than donated funds from club membership Sylvia is coordinating 6. Fisher Cats sold ticket money should be given to any Dugout Club Officer or Coach Demas by May 11th (but, the sooner the better). 7. Homerun Derby is scheduled for April 15th (April 29th is the rain date) a. 9 AM Clinic for other non-high school Londonderry boys or girls LAFA will be solicited 8. Next Club meeting will be Tuesday, April 3, 2012 prior or after the dinner 9. Conversation around conducting a game against Spaulding HS at Fisher Cats Stadium on May 13, 2012 which is Mothers Day tickets would include attendance at a game against the Portland Seadogs on May 24, 2012; would require the Club to purchase 250 tickets up front at $5 per ticket to then be sold at $8 per ticket; total up-front cost to club is $1,250 a. Positive Vote to move forward by present club membership 2. Patriots Raffle Tickets Draw a. Bob Leonard wins Bob D will contact to get the tickets to him 3. Discussion regarding the stoppage of work on the JV field due to loss of capital funds 4. Wrestling tournament on December 11, 2011 a. Need a couple more volunteers to fill in gaps 5. Texas Holdem tournament a. On-hold for 30 60 days due to legal requirements 6. Conversation around budgeting for equipment in the future 7. Winter Workouts a. LMS meeting upcoming this week b. Need to distribute High School flyer all High School students are aware of the January 8th date of first meeting i. Warren to create and get to Bob by 12/8/11 who can distribute through email 8. Dugout Club Meeting November 22, 2011 Londonderry High School- 7:00 PM Board Members Present: Bob Del Signore President; Jim Flanders Vice President; Debra Simpson Treasurer; Warren Jennings Secretary; Brent Demas and 5 club members 1. Deb Change Fiscal Calendar year from Jan Dec to Sep 1 to Aug 31 so as to accurately reflect the updated fund raising efforts of the club a. $3,900 Revenue b. $2,600 Expenses c. 100% agreed by all in attendance 2. We have been asked to assist with the Wrestling tournament on December 11, 2011 a. Potential to earn $600 - 1,500 b. Concessions/Security etc, etc c. Need 12 -15 Adults d. Sign-up sheet passed around the meeting, Bob will complete the volunteers 3. Texas Holdem tournament a. Sounds like 50 60 people coming b. Need 7 total dealers, need 3-4 more c. Professionally coordinated d. Obtaining Police detail 4. Club will be funding a JV Coach ($500) (previously agreed expense) 5. Motion to give Coach Grant a $500 stipend for the 2012 season a. Unanimously approved b. This stipend will need to be voted on each year forth coming 6. Helmets for the Varsity Varsity to JV, etc/Pitching Assist Equipment additions a. Unanimously approved 7. Winter Workouts a. Discussion around ensuring students pay their share Bob ensured it would go smoothly b. Plan made to have a Middle School fall meeting Coach Demas will coordinate with Coach Palange 8. Next Club meeting will be Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at 7 PM 9.
